Our History

After living and working in Mexico for many years, Carsten Hagen founded Chosen Foods Corporation, Canada.  Drawing from scientific experts and local legend, Hagen discovered the country’s rich heritage of unique, healing foods.  It is Chosen Foods’ mission to offer these ancient superfoods to the world.

George Todd joined the team as Chief Financial Officer and ultimately President of Chosen Foods Inc, USA.  Mr. Todd brings cultivated expertise – drawing on a successful career in corporate finance and business management.

In 2011, Chosen Foods de Mexico S.A. de C.V. was incorporated in Mexico, to facilitate close cooperation with local farmers, conduct research, and directly manage quality control for year-round supply.

Today, the Chosen Foods group is a fully integrated operation – overseeing production from the fields to the finished product.  We coordinate operations, product development, sales, and marketing from our 8,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, California.
